Meet the Teachers of the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta

We are proud to have working for us a substantial number of German language instructors with years of experience teaching adults. Our teachers are trained to instruct you on all proficiency levels, from beginners all the way to the most advanced learners of German, competently and in adherence to the highest quality standards set forth by the Goethe-Institute.

In addition, many of our trainers are experienced in designing and instructing corporate German language and culture programs, both on-site and in intensive off-site training sessions.

We invite you to meet our instructors.

  • Dr. Arnsperger received his Ph.D. from Emory University, Atlanta, GA, in 2013. Other than German and English, he also speaks French, Italian, and Arabic.

  • Ms. Bruns joined the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta in 2007.

  • Ute Buscher joined the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta in 1999.

  • Mr. Dietrich has been teaching at the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta since 2006 and specializes in conversation and advanced-level courses.

  • Mr. Floyd joined the Goethe-Zentrum in 2012, after graduating with a Masters Degree in German from Georgia State University.

  • Ms. Hager has been with the Goethe-Zentrum on and off since 1998 and once served as the Coordinator of the Language Department. She has many years of corporate training and corporate experience and teaches at a broad range of levels, from A1 through C1.

  • Mr. Jansa has been with the Goethe-Zentrum since 1998 and served as its Language Program Director from 2013 to 2015. He has many years of corporate and general adult German language/cultural training experience and teaches learners on a broad range of proficiency levels. His duties as Language Program Director included the German language curriculum, teacher training, as well as all examinations administered at the Goethe-Zentrum.

  • David Kerr has been with the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta since 2013. He currently teaches our German History and opera courses.

  • Sarah Mack joined the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta in 2015.

  • Marisa has been teaching at the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta since 2013. She currently teaches the A1 level class.

  • Mr. Nuedling has over 40 years' experience in the field of German language teaching and has worked both in Germany and the U.S.

  • Dr. Pohl has been with the Goethe-Zentrum since 1998. She was born in Berlin, Germany, grew up in Austria, and came to the U.S. as a teenager.

  • A true polyglot, Ms. Schurman has been teaching at the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta since 2014. She specializes in the proficiency level A1 and A2.

  • Ms. Stewart is a native speaker of German has been teaching at the Goethe-Zentrum since 1987. In the past, she served as Cultural Program Coordinator at the former Goethe-Institut Atlanta.
