Angelika Otte joined the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta in 2021 as Language Program Director and successfully served as Interim Executive Director from August 2025 through February 2026. In her current role as Co-Executive Director for Language, Programming and Operations, she continues to build on her dedicated tenure with the organization, advancing its educational, cultural, and community-focused mission.

A resident of Metro Atlanta for more than 20 years, Angelika brings a lifelong passion for languages, cultural exchange, and community engagement to her work at the Goethe-Zentrum. Originally from Munich, Germany, she studied Eastern European Studies and German Language at Ludwig-Maximilians-University, earning her Magister Artium. She began her career in international customer relations with U.S.-headquartered companies in Germany before relocating to Los Angeles and later to Georgia, where she established her own translation, tutoring, and cross-cultural localization business.

A certified public-school teacher, Angelika earned her Certificate in Foreign Language Education from Kennesaw State University and has taught German to children, teens, and adults throughout Metro Atlanta, including DSD and AP German programs. At the Goethe-Zentrum, she combines her background in education, languages, and cultural exchange to develop and lead inclusive and comprehensive cultural programming that reflects the diversity of the German-speaking world, bringing together perspectives from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and other German-speaking communities through film, literature, music, exhibitions, lectures, discussions, and community events.

As part of the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta’s role as a Franco-German Cultural Center, Angelika also leads and develops collaborative Franco-German initiatives, working closely with the Alliance Française d’Atlanta and other partners to create programming that connects German and French language, culture, and communities. Through these initiatives, as well as the Goethe-Zentrum’s broader cultural programming, she works to create opportunities for dialogue, cultural discovery, and meaningful exchange across national, linguistic, and cultural boundaries—strengthening connections between the United States, the German-speaking countries, France, and the diverse communities of Metro Atlanta.

Outside of work, Angelika enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor adventures with her dog, and exploring Metro Atlanta’s rich cultural diversity.
