Transatlantic relationship building through diplomacy and art.

Tropic Ice, Fashion Utopia, Imagining Earth. These are the names of German-French-American art projects on the themes of sustainability and climate crisis which Goethe-Zentrum and Kultur Ensemble realized in Atlanta and beyond. What was the reason for that? What did that do in the context of transatlantic dialogue? Is art dialogue at all? And how does that connect with the diplomatic side of that thing called transatlantic relationship building?

Consul General of Germany, Melanie Moltmann, and Executive Director of Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta, Oliver Gorf, are looking forward to discuss these and other questions on the backdrop of the current Graphic Novel exhibition “Comicopia – Imagining Earth” at the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta.

FRANCO-GERMAN CULTURAL CENTER

Founded in 1976 as a branch of the Goethe Institut, our organization has served the German-speaking community in Atlanta and the Southeast for more than 45 years. 

As of September 2022, we are officially a KULTUR ENSEMBLE!

1 of 9 globally, and the only in North America, together with the Alliance Francaise d'Atlanta, we are the center for German and French language, culture, heritage and experiences in the heart of Downtown Atlanta.
