This workshop offers practical guidance on vocabulary building, memory techniques, speaking confidence, and sustainable study habits to help learners at any stage succeed in their language-learning journey. $88 for members, $99 non-members.

Starting July 13th: B1 Essentials Review - Refresh and strengthen your German grammar this summer with a four-week review of essential B1 topics, including word order, subordinate and relative clauses, modal verbs, and Konjunktiv II. Tailored to the group's needs, this course is perfect for both B1 and B2 learners who want to build confidence and reinforce the grammatical foundation for advanced German.

Starting July 14th: A1 Essentials Review - Build a strong foundation in German this summer with a focused four-week review of important A1 grammar topics. In four 90-minute sessions, you will practice separable verbs, the Perfekt tense, adjective endings, and other essential structures that help you communicate with greater confidence in everyday situations.

Starting July 14th: From Perfekt to Präteritum - step confidently from the spoken past (Perfekt) to the narrative past (Präteritum) and launch your understanding of stories, articles, and literature in German.

Standard Courses

Our progressive standard courses are sequential courses that follow the world-wide recognized Common European Framework of Reference for Language learning (CEFR). In addition, we offer specialized courses and workshops to enhance German learning, language practice, and cultural knowledge at any level. Specialized Courses

vary each quarter and include conversation, grammar, business and other themed German courses, current events, writing, literature, and other offerings. They are suitable for particular skill levels. 
 

Workshops

are offered throughout the year and include introduction to language learning, linguistic skills boot camps, as well as thematic individual sessions and cultural workshops in German and English.

All of the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta group classes are for adult language learners.

The minimum age for our group courses is 16 years. For teens younger than age 16 or young people who are not ready to join a group course with learners of all ages, please check out our youth page for our individual instruction and tutoring for ages 10 and up.

Members are eligible for the membership discount on language courses (within the 12-month membership period).

 Goethe-Institut Exams in Atlanta

We offer a comprehensive and progressive German language program from beginner (A1) to full mastery (C2). Specialized courses and topic‑focused workshops support learners at every stage - whether you are just starting out, advancing your skills, or preparing for professional or academic use.

Classes are offered at multiple locations, including Downtown Atlanta, Roswell, and on-site at companies and colleges. And with 60% of our courses available via Zoom, you can join from anywhere.

Our cultural programming continues to expand and offers something for every age and interest.

From film screenings and heritage programs to exhibitions, literature events, panel discussions, networking, lifestyle and sports activities, music, food, and even beloved fairy tales, our calendar brings German-speaking culture to life in dynamic and meaningful ways.

We host interactive in-person events at our cultural center in Downtown Atlanta and throughout the Metro Atlanta area. Many of our programs are also accessible online via Zoom, making it easy to join us from anywhere.

FRANCO-GERMAN CULTURAL CENTER

As an independent local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta continues the legacy of the former Goethe-Institut Atlanta (1976–2007). Altogether, we have served the community across Atlanta and the Southeastern United States through language, culture, outreach and cultural programs for 50 years. For many of these years, we have shared office space with Alliance Française d'Atlanta, an Atlanta institution since 1912.

In 2023, together we officially became KULTUR ENSEMBLE!

One of only nine such organizations worldwide, and the only one in North America.

In partnership with the Alliance Française d’Atlanta, we offer joint cultural events, heritage programming, a framework for European cultural events, and immersive experiences for all.
