Swiss Film Festival: Finsteres Glück / Dark Fortune

Join The Consulate General of Switzerland in Atlanta, the Alliance Française d'Atlanta and the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta for the final installment of the Swiss Film Festival with the screening of Finsteres Glück / Dark Fortune.

The film was released in 2016 by Stefan Haupt.

About the Film:
Late at night, psychologist Eliane Hess is called to the hospital bed of 8-year-old Yves. The boy is the only family member to have survived a car crash. Eliane is both horrified and fascinated by the boy’s fate. An invisible bond develops between them, blurring the boundaries between private and working life.
Based on the novel “Finsteres Glück” by Lukas Hartmann, DARK FORTUNE tells us a tender, highly unusual story about belonging and love, exploring the question of guilt and innocence and illustrating the fearless courage to face one’s destiny.

Length: 113 minutes.
To be screened in Swiss German with English subtitles.

FRANCO-GERMAN CULTURAL CENTER

Founded in 1976 as a branch of the Goethe Institut, our organization has served the German-speaking community in Atlanta and the Southeast for more than 45 years. 

As of September 2022, we are officially a KULTUR ENSEMBLE!

1 of 9 globally, and the only in North America, together with the Alliance Francaise d'Atlanta, we are the center for German and French language, culture, heritage and experiences in the heart of Downtown Atlanta.
