Elysée Treaty Celebration 2018 - Highlighting our Shared Love of Arts and Culture: A Spotlight on French and German Opera

Join the Consulate General of France in Atlanta, the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Atlanta, the Alliance Française d'Atlanta and the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta for our annual celebration of the signing of the Elysée Treaty.

This year, the program will focus on the shared love of arts and culture in both France and Germany, particularly opera. We’ll have live performances of pieces from both French and German operas along with a short commentary.

Soloists from The Atlanta Opera and Capitol City Opera will perform excerpts from Bizet’s “Carmen,” Gounod’s “Roméo et Juliette,” Strauss’s “Ariadne auf Naxos,” and Wagner’s “Tannhäuser.”

KULTUR ENSEMBLE

FRANCO-GERMAN CULTURAL CENTER

Founded in 1976 as a branch of the Goethe Institut, our organization has served the German-speaking community in Atlanta and the Southeast for more than 45 years. 

As of September 2022, we are officially a KULTUR ENSEMBLE!

1 of 9 globally, and the only in North America, together with the Alliance Francaise d'Atlanta, we are the center for German and French language, culture, heritage and experiences in the heart of Downtown Atlanta.
