Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta, Peachtree 1201 St. NE, 400 Colony Square, Suite 1104

Please join me for the 2nd opera of Wagner’s “Ring” Cycle, “Die Walküre” [The Valkyrie].

Valkyries were warrior goddesses in Germanic mythology. In “Die Walküre,” Wagner creates one of opera’s greatest heroines, the Valkyrie named “Brünnhilde.”

It’s a heart-breaking journey as we witness Wotan, the chief god, lose his 3 most beloved children, in addition to his wife, all because of his lust for power.

“Die Walküre” is the most popular of the 4 operas that constitute the “Ring” Cycle.

$20.00 for members, $30.00 for non-members

To be taught in English by David Kerr

No pre-existing knowledge of the “Ring” Cycle, music, nor German required.
