A Note on Opera: Wagner's Götterdämmerung"

Please join David Kerr for “Götterdämmerung” [The Twilight of the Gods], the 4th and final opera in Wagner’s “Ring” Cycle.

The Cycle concludes with the ring’s curse finally being lifted, but only after Brünnhilde’s ultimate sacrifice. The Rhine’s precious gold, the material of the ring, is returned to its source and mankind, with no more interference from the gods, is free to begin fashioning a new world.

To be taught in English by David Kerr. No pre-existing knowledge of the “Ring” Cycle, music, or German is required.

FRANCO-GERMAN CULTURAL CENTER

Founded in 1976 as a branch of the Goethe Institut, our organization has served the German-speaking community in Atlanta and the Southeast for more than 45 years. 

As of September 2022, we are officially a KULTUR ENSEMBLE!

1 of 9 globally, and the only in North America, together with the Alliance Francaise d'Atlanta, we are the center for German and French language, culture, heritage and experiences in the heart of Downtown Atlanta.
