Arts & Activism with Barbara Dombrowski

Art & Activism is a series by the United Church of Christ Coral Gables (UCC), of which the German church in Miami is part of. After collaborating with UCC and the German Consulate General Miami on the showing of Barbara Dombrowski's Tropic Ice in Miami, Goethe also participates on this edition of Arts and Activism with a Live-discussion with the photographer.

Barbara is a renowned German photographer and visual artist who dedicates her work to places affected by climate change. She is focusing on relevant and specific climate localities and their population living between established tradition and global modernity. Their existence and their space to live are seriously threatened by outer influences of our modern world, be it through direct or indirect impacts of climate change.

The lecture will take place both in-person in Havighorst Lounge, Miami, and on Zoom.

KULTUR ENSEMBLE

FRANCO-GERMAN CULTURAL CENTER

Founded in 1976 as a branch of the Goethe Institut, our organization has served the German-speaking community in Atlanta and the Southeast for more than 45 years. 

As of September 2022, we are officially a KULTUR ENSEMBLE!

1 of 9 globally, and the only in North America, together with the Alliance Francaise d'Atlanta, we are the center for German and French language, culture, heritage and experiences in the heart of Downtown Atlanta.
