Am Ende der Revolution - German Theater

Thursday, March 9, 2023
8:00 pm10:00 pm
Presenting: FORMATION NOW **, the award-winning German Theater Group is guest in Atlanta

Will we ever reach the day when racism no longer structures societies? How much longer will the “process” of change take?

"Am Ende der Revolution (At the End of the Revolution)" is “a poetically musical journey from the past into the future.”
At its core, it’s a play about being fed up with gradual social change. It critically questions Germany’s memory culture via an exploration of Black-led resistances in Germany.

From artist activists like the well-known poet May Ayim to lesser-known figures like pianist Kwasi Bruce and protest singer Fasia Jansen, "Am Ende der Revolution" offers a change of perspective regarding whitewashed German history, by a diverse group of people that make up the Hamburg-based artist collective FORMATION**NOW.

Was können wir aus Geschichte(n) lernen? Was bedeutet Freiheit? Wie wollen wir leben? Diese und andere zentrale Fragen, die seit 2020 nochmal eine völlig neue Tragweite bekommen haben, stellt sich das Kollektiv FORMATION**NOW in "Am Ende der Revolution".

Wissen. Sichtbarkeit. Teilhabe. Repräsentation. Empowerment.
Knowledge. Visibility. Participation. Representation. Empowerment.

The audience will have the opportunity to engage with the actors during the reception immediately following the performances.
