Specialized Courses

We offer a variety of courses that focus on a specific set of skills or a specific topic, such as Exam Preparation, Skill Practice, and Culture & Society. These courses vary from quarter to quarter, and we always welcome student suggestions for new course themes!

Classes are typically 2.5-hour meetings with a 15 minute break. Some specialized courses are designated as "short" courses, meaning the course meetings only last 1.5 hours with no break.

With a Goethe-Zentrum Membership*, the short courses cost $260 for a full 10-week course or $130 for the 5-week option, and other specialized courses cost $390 for the 10-week course or $195 for the 5-week option. 

*Please note: all current language course participants are required to have an active membership for the duration of the course should they be purchasing the course at the member rate. If you purchase a membership prior to registering but have not yet received your membership number, please indicate "pending" when prompted for your membership number in the registration form.

* PLEASE NOTE: Our regular courses all run on a 10-week schedule; those selecting a 5-week course will join either the first or second half of a full 10-week course.

The C1/C2 Current Events class focuses on relevant issues in various topics, including global economics, politics, culture, and language. Classes will be structured through engaging discussions concentrating on themes interesting to the students. Students will get a chance to focus on speaking as well as German grammar in practical usage – ideal for those wanting to "brush-up" on their language skills or for those interested in maintaining high proficiency. This course is recommended for learners at the C1 level and above.

KULTUR ENSEMBLE

FRANCO-GERMAN CULTURAL CENTER

Founded in 1976 as a branch of the Goethe Institut, our organization has served the German-speaking community in Atlanta and the Southeast for more than 45 years. 

As of September 2022, we are officially a KULTUR ENSEMBLE!

1 of 9 globally, and the only in North America, together with the Alliance Francaise d'Atlanta, we are the center for German and French language, culture, heritage and experiences in the heart of Downtown Atlanta.
