German instruction for youth
Tutoring and Individual Instruction ages 10-18
We offer German tutoring and individualized instruction via Zoom for students ages 10 (4th grade) and up, whether they are enrolled in immersion or non-immersion German programs. Our experienced instructors work with both language learners and heritage speakers and provide age-appropriate instruction tailored to each student’s needs, including support with schoolwork, language development, and exam preparation.
Individual instruction is available for students ages 12 through 18, with personalized lesson plans designed around the student’s language level, goals, and learning environment. Our instructors also have experience preparing students for AATG, DSD I, DSD II, AP, and IB German, as well as the Goethe-Zertifikat exams for children, youth, and adults and TestDaF.
Goethe exam preparation can include the A1 Fit in Deutsch exam for children from age 10; A2 Fit in Deutsch and B1 Youth Exam for students ages 12 and up; B2 Youth Exam for students ages 15 and up; C1 for students ages 16 and up; and C2/GDS for students ages 18 and up.
Classes are typically held via Zoom, although in-person arrangements in Downtown Atlanta or at our Roswell location may be possible in individual cases. We use age-appropriate textbooks and teaching materials and tailor instruction to the student’s age, level, and educational program.
To inquire about tutoring or individual instruction, please email language@goetheatlanta.org with your student’s age, grade level and type of German program (including the school name and location, if applicable), your desired frequency and time frame, and a phone number where we can reach you during business hours. We will then contact you to discuss your needs and available options.
