COME TOGÄTHER – The week of German-speaking countries
October 21 - 28

Did you know? About 130 million people worldwide speak German as their mother tongue. German is the most widely spoken mother language in Europe, and an official language in six countries: Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein. Moreover, around 7.5 million people in 42 countries worldwide belong to a German-speaking minority.

This October, the Consulates General of Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium in cooperation with Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta and the Honorary Consulate of Austria, come together to present the first annual COME TOGÄTHER – Week of the German-speaking Countries in Atlanta.

The art and food market DER MARKT at Peachtree Center Plaza and the GOETHE SCHLAGERPARTY at Der Biergarten, both on Saturday, October 21st, are the kick-off events for a diverse series of events highlighting culture and language in all German-speaking countries.

From puppeteering to live music and sing-alongs to photography and short movies, from a visit from Atlanta’s sister city Nuremberg to education and the labor market, from yummy specialties and craft to cars – there is something for every taste.

Dear Atlantans, COME TOGÄTHER and enjoy international flavor in Atlanta.
